She was a heart patient at Gentiva Hospice in Columbus, GA when the Lord called her home. Margaret was born April 13, 1929 in Buford, GA to the late Fred and Flora (Overby) Bennett. She was preceded in death by her husband Forrest Hoke Thompson of Talladega, AL in 2014. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sheila Ann Ragsdale and son-in-law, Russ; granddaughter Michelle Lawler and husband Bo, great grandson Rob Lawler and wife Jessica, great, great granddaughter Aiden; great granddaughter Melissa Lawler; granddaughter Deanne Tate, great granddaughter Jessy Tate; half brother Lanny Bennett and wife Janice; half sisters Teri Cofer and Larita Parks and her husband Charles. Margaret grew up in Buford, GA where at a young age, she became a Christian. A few years later, she met Forrest, the love of her life and her husband of 67 years. She devoted her life to her family and to being a disciple of Jesus Christ through her church and various Christian organizations such as; CBN Ministries in Atlanta, and later, Helping Hands of Paulding County. Margaret was the Director of Helping Hands in Paulding County for 14 years and was a member of Mount Paran Church of God in Atlanta, GA. Her ministry in life was to love and help people find salvation through Jesus Christ. After retiring from Helping Hands at the age of 72, she continued her ministry of love by praying for and being a blessing to her family and everyone she encountered. Up unto her final hours, she was uplifting those around her with her sweet smile, encouraging words and lilting laugh. Margaret will be missed by all that knew her, and by faith, we know she has reached Heaven, the primary goal of her life.
