Funeral Director Posted October 24, 2016 Report Share Posted October 24, 2016 Mr. James William Wise, affectionately known to his family and friends as “J.W.”, age 74, of Dallas passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2016. J.W. was born on January 1, 1942 in Kingston, Tennessee to loving parents, the late Mr. Clyde Wise and Mrs. Elizabeth Tinnel Wise. A veteran of the United States Army, J.W. served his country proudly in the Vietnam War and Korean Conflict. He married Minnie Greene Wise on December 20, 1959 and made his home in Dallas, Georgia. He worked for the Paulding County School System as a bus driver for many years. J.W. was a Christian and loved the Lord. He pastored several local churches in his life time most notably McPherson Baptist Church and New Canaan Fellowship Baptist Church in Mableton. At the time of his death, J.W. was a member of Young Street Baptist Church in Cartersville, Georgia. J.W is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mrs. Minnie Wise; three daughters, Mrs. Karen and Brock Starr of Canton, Mrs. Reena and Tommy Smith of Temple, and Ms. Nancy Walter of Rockmart; 9 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives and friends also survive. The funeral service for Mr. J.W. Wise will be held in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 2 PM with Rev. Donald Collum and Rev. Max Padgett officiating. Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Dallas, Georgia with Rev. Billy Lord officiating the committal service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 4-9 PM. Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. James William “J.W.” Wise.
