Mr. Charles Clifton Pope, Sr., age 72, of Aragon Ga., passed away on Friday evening, September 16, 2016 at his son's residence.

 

Charles was born in Aragon, GA, on June 4, 1944, the son of the late Earnest Terry and Emma Williams Pope. Mr. Pope enjoyed fishing and was of the Baptist faith. Charles was a retired maintenance worker.

 

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Pope; daughters, Vickie Hall and Connie Pope and his sister, Frances Lucille Pawley.

 

Charles is survived by two sons, Charles Clifton Pope, Jr. and his wife, Bobbie, of Dallas, GA, and Danny Wayne Pope of Dallas, Ga.; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Mr. Paul Pope of Cedartown, and his previous wife, Dorothy Pope.

 

Funeral services for Charles Clifton Pope, Sr. will be held on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home. Timothy Joe Miller, Chris Pope, Frankie Hammitt, Devon Prendergast, Joe Harcourt, and Chad White will serve as pallbearers.

 

The family will receive friends on at Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home from 1-3 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 prior to the service.

Charles was a nice guy and I sure was sorry to hear of his death. My thoughts are with the family.
