James Doyal "Jim" Atcheson, age 58, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2016, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.

 

Jim was born on September 19, 1957, in Atlanta, GA, to loving parents, the late Doyal Richard Atcheson and Mary Virginia Camp Atcheson. Jim worked as a forklift driver for Caraustar Industries for many years and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Dallas. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved watching baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his son, Ben Kennedy, and his sister, Patty Brady.

 

Jim is survived by his wife, Carla Regina Walker Atcheson, to whom he married on September 22, 1983; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Natalie Atcheson of Dallas, Alicia and Jason Prather of Powder Springs, GA, and Kimberly and John Hicks of Rockmart, GA; three grandchildren, Jacob Thackston, Anna Prather and Jace Hicks; one sister and brother-in-law, Dorese and Rick King of Hiram, GA. Several nieces, nephews and other family members also survive.

 

Funeral services for James Doyal “Jim” Atcheson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 29, 2016, in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, August 27, 2016 from 4:00 until 9:00 PM.
