Clark Funeral Home Posted April 6, 2016 Report Share Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) Joseph “Jack” Rackley, age 88, of Temple, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016. He was born on October 31, 1927, in Dallas, GA, to the late John Henry & Martha Rackley, and was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Rackley, sister, Lee Williams, granddaughters, Cheryl Rackley and Kasey Rackley. Mr. Rackley was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Korean War, manager of multiple grocery stores over the years and was a member of Zion Baptist Church. He loved his family and enjoyed fishing, gardening and reading his Bible. Jack was an excellent story teller and his stories will be remembered by all that heard them. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Rackley; children, Rudy Rackley of Athens, GA, Ernie Rackley of Temple, GA, and JoAnn & Tim Elsberry of Temple, GA; grandchildren, Brooke Leigh Fernander, Rudy Rackley JR, Jessi Ray, Jennifer Dempsey, Sharon Capes and Joseph Elsberry; great-grandchildren, Emily Fernander, Wesley Dempsey, Rhyley Vaughn, Lili Ray, Grace Dempsey; great-great-grandchild, Kaislyn Fernander; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at 4 PM, from New Hope Cemetery, with Reverend Tim Elsberry officiating. Rudy Rackley JR, Jason Capes, Keith Dempsey, Joseph Elsberry, John Davis and Ronnie Ray will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 12 PM until 3:30 PM.
