Funeral Director Posted February 16, 2016 Report Share Posted February 16, 2016 (edited) Mrs. Wilma “Jeanette” Palmer Weldon, age 80, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Monday evening, February 15, 2016, at Southern Traditions Nursing Home in Haralson, GA. Jeanette was born on July 21, 1935, in Gainesville, GA, the daughter of the late Mr. Arvil Kenneth “A.K.” Palmer and Mrs. Nellie O’Shields Palmer. Jeanette enjoyed shopping, going to church, eating great food and spending time in the mountains. She was a member of the Christ Freedom Non-Denominational Church and worked as lunchroom manager at New Georgia Elementary School. As a housewife of many years, she loved spending quality time with her family and loved to serve the Lord. In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. George A. Weldon; three brothers, Jimmy Palmer, Leon Palmer and Kenneth Palmer; and one sister, Virginia Abernathy. Jeanette is survived by one daughter, Rhonda (Stan) Seals of New Georgia; two sons, Ricky (Patty) Weldon of Villa Rica, GA and Tony (Debbie) Weldon of Dallas, GA; five grandchildren, Grace Weldon of Villa Rica, Dustin Seals of New York, Drew Seals of New Georgia, Amber (Greg) Thorpe of Dallas and Alayna Weldon of Dallas; one great-grandchild, Luke Thorpe of Dallas; two step grandchildren, Chuck (Melissa) Hunt of Dallas and Brandy (Michael) Cleary of AL; seven step great-grandchildren, Dawson Hunt of Dallas, Delaney Hunt of Dallas, Charlee Hunt of Dallas, Chett Hunt of Dallas, Dylan Cleary of AL, Zach Cleary of AL and Noah Cleary of AL; one sister, Linda McCoy of Douglasville; and one brother, Robert Palmer of Carrollton. A host of nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma “Jeanette” Palmer Weldon will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Burgess and Rev. David Gresham officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens in Hiram, GA. Drew Seals, Dustin Seals, Greg Thorpe, Ken McCoy, Ricky Caldwell and Rusty Richards will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Wilma “Jeanette” Palmer Weldon.
