Mr. Cleveland Franklin Anderson, Sr., affectionately known as “Cleve” to his family and friends, age 77, of Temple, GA passed away at his residence on Sunday, January 3, 2016.

 

Cleve was born on January 2, 1939 in Smyrna, GA to loving parents, the late Mr. Louie Anderson and Mrs. Icie Wilson. Cleve was self employed and worked in the lawn maintenance industry for years. As a veteran, he served with the United States Air Force Reserve. Cleve was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.

 

In addition to his parents, Cleve was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Elizabeth Marie “Beth” Anderson, on October 25, 2015, whom he married on April 10, 1958. Several siblings also preceded him in death.

 

Cleve is survived by 5 children, Mr. Frank (Cheryl) Anderson of Marietta, Ms. Angelia James of Temple, Mrs. Eugenia (Jimmy) Neal of Hiram, Ms. Iris Townsend of Hiram, and Ms. Mary McNair of Temple. In addition to his children, Ms. Jessica McNair of Rockmart, Mr. Blake McNair of Temple, and Mr. Rueben Anderson of Marietta as well as 9 additional grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 1 sister, Ms. Thelma Price of Morganton, Georgia as well as several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends also survive.

 

The funeral service for Cleve Franklin Anderson, Sr. will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Lee McGarity officiating. Jessica McNair will provide the eulogy. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Cemetery. Rueben Anderson, J.R. Neal, Joey Neal, Woody Townsend, Samuel James, and Blake McNair will serve as pallbearers.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 4-9 PM.
