Joel Edward Harper, age 77, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2015.

 

Joel was born on January 20, 1938, in Alabama City, Alabama the son of the late Rev. J.W.G. Harper and Mary Lambert Harper. Prior to retirement, he was a bus driver with MARTA. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy.

 

Joel is survived by his wife, Anna Harper; son, Giles (Edith) Harper of New York, New York; two brothers, David (Lisette) Harper of Murfreesboro TN, and Tom (Susan) Harper of Falls Church, VA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2015 in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Crestwood Cemetery in Gadsden, AL.

 

Visitation for Joel will be Wednesday evening, December 16, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
