Mrs. Bessie Lucille Jackson Collins, age 82, of Hiram GA, passed away on Friday afternoon, November 27, 2015, at Wellstar Douglas Hospital.

 

Bessie was born in Toxey, Al. on October 19, 1933, the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson and Lela Jenkins Jackson. She is has been a resident of Hiram and Paulding County for the greater part of her life and was a hairdresser for many years. Bessie loved doing crossword puzzles and was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her great granddaughter Kylee Snow and her sister Meryl.

 

Bessie is survived by her husband Jimmy Collins which she had been married to for 58 years. Also survived by 2 sons, Jimmy D. Collins of Hiram, GA, Michael Collins of Villa Rica, Ga, 1 Daughter Angela (Tracey) Hardy of Hiram, GA, 5 grandchildren, Michael Collins, Mackenzie Collins, Robert Collins, Thomas Hardy, Anita Hardy, 1 great granddaughter, Anniston Richter, 1 great grandson Zander Snow, 1 sister Dora Loper, Butler Al. and many other relatives and friends.

 

Funeral service for Bessie Lucille Jackson Collins will be held on Monday afternoon November 30, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Dwayne Hewett officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, GA. Michael Collins, Jimmy Collins, Michael Collins, Jr., Tracey Hardy, Slade Richter, and Bobby Collins will serve as pallbearers.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
