Funeral Services for Mr. Herman Cheyenne "Shane" Holmes age 58 of Temple, Ga. (Paulding County) will be held on Saturday November 28, 2015 at 1:00PM from the Benson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Swafford and Rev. Jerry Hollis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with Clyde Holmes, Polly Holmes Hardy, Shane Crowe, Nick Golden, Curt Golden, Josh Williams, Kenny Horsley and Josh Holmes serving as Pall Bearers.

The Holmes Family will be receiving friends on Friday November 27, 2015 from 4:00PM - 8:00PM.

Cheyenne was a beloved brother and friend who passed away on November 25, 2015 after he fell and hit his head last March, incapacitating him.

Cheyenne was an active participant of the Paulding Enterprises for more than 18 years. He loved all his friends who worked with him. Going to workshop was the highlight of his week. Cheyenne was a member of Fullerville Baptist Church in Villa Rica. Several years ago, he found his salvation in Jesus and wheeled himself unassisted down to the altar to accomplish this on his own.

He loved his pastor and his church family. He was an active member until his disabilities rendered it too difficult for him to attend. He is also a member of Sons of American Legion, Squadron 0070 Villa Rica, Ga.

For the past 18 years, Cheyenne lived with his sister and brother in law, Flora and Jerry Swiney. He was deeply loved and they cared for him as their own. He loved and appreciated his sisters and brothers and never failed to tell them so.
