Funeral Director Posted November 12, 2015 Report Share Posted November 12, 2015 Mrs. Shelia Diann Jay, age 63, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Wednesday morning, November 11, 2015, at Tranquility of Cobb. Shelia was born in Boaz, AL, on September 18, 1952, the daughter of the late John Farmer Pence, Jr. and Lula E. Martin Pence. She had been a resident of Dallas and Paulding County for the greater part of her life and was a housewife and homemaker. Shelia loved knitting and cooking, was an avid University of Alabama fan (Roll Tide) and loved her dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry David Jay, on July 27, 2014, to whom she was married on August 8, 1975. Shelia is survived by her children, Curtis Lee Thornton and his wife, Janice , of Dallas, Judy Kinney and her husband, Steve, of Dallas, Barry Jay and his wife, Dina, of Centre, AL, and David Jay of Aragon, GA; grandchildren, Candace and Leann Thornton of Dallas. Ten other grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Shelia will be held on Saturday afternoon, November 14, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Paulding Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon until the funeral hour. The staff of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Shelia Diann Jay.
