Funeral Director Posted November 2, 2015 Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 Elsie “Bonnell” Brewer, age 87, of Dallas, GA, passed away on Wednesday evening, October 28, 2015, at the Tranquility Hospice in Marietta, GA. Bonnell was born on August 22, 1928, the daughter of the late John Hiram Buchanan and Dollie Bessie Lee Morris Buchanan. A native of Paulding County, Bonnell was a member of the New Canaan Baptist Church in Dallas. She loved to cook meals for her family, especially sweets, go on picnics, and walks on sunny days. Some of Bonnell’s guilty pleasures were her favorite soap opera, The Young & The Restless, and she loved to go shopping. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, James Michael Brewer, and four brothers. Bonnell is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Debbie Brewer of Hiram, GA; two daughters and sons-in-law’s, Linda and Mike Tibbetts of Dallas, GA, and Betty Jean and Dickie Hobbs of Marietta, GA; eight grandchildren, Chris Brewer, Chad Brewer, Mindy Stephenson, Rachel Tibbetts, Michael Tibbetts, Kerri Wilson, Emma Hobbs, Adam Hobbs; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild along with a host of other family members. Private graveside and interment services for Elsie “Bonnell” Brewer were held on October 31, 2015, at 11:00 AM at the Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Don Rackley officiating. Chad Brewer, Chris Brewer, Adam Hobbs, Michael Tibbetts, Josh Stephenson, and Alex Davis served as pallbearers.
