Tonia Marie DeTappan Holby, age 73, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, October 18, 2015.

 

Tonia was born in Chicago, IL on July 25, 1942 to Alfonso DeTappan and Hazel Paulsen DeTappan. She worked for many years at Kroger as a service clerk. Tonia was a devoted Christian and a member of North Paulding Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, reading, and spending time with her family and with her friends.

 

Tonia is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Hazel Paulsen DeTappan; 1 sister, Consuelo Nelson and her husband, Randy Holby.

 

Tonia is survived by two daughters, Vicki Miller of Acworth and Debora (Bill) Cowell of PA; two sons, Derek (Liz) Miller of VA and Richard (Barbara) Miller of CA; 2 granddaughters, Jessica Cowell of PA and Tiffany Miller of CA; 1 great grandson, Zachary Miller of CA; 1 brother, Peter DeTappan of FL. Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.

 

A memorial service is planned for Friday, October 23 at 6 PM at North Paulding Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Cole and Rev. Jimmy Post officiating the service.

 

In lieu of flowers, Tonia’s family has requested that donations be made to North Paulding Baptist Church at 4332 Brushy Mountain Road Rockmart, GA 30153.
