Arnold Alexander Grant - September 20, 1937 - October 8, 2015

Mr. Arnold A. Grant, age 78, of Aragon, GA, died on Thursday, October 8, 2015, in a Rome hospital.

 

A native of Dawsonville, GA, Mr. Grant was born on September 20, 1937, the son of the late Loyd and Louise O’Shields Grant Jones and step-son of the late Gordon L. Jones. He had been a resident of Aragon for the later years of his life and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Grant was a retired self-employed carpenter and loved fishing, tinkering with clocks and razors and fixing broken things. He was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons and the Georgia Bulldogs. Mr. Grant was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Grant.

 

Mr. Grant is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Marvin Grant of Dallas, GA, and Rick and Carla Jones of San Diego, CA; a niece, Marva Gilley and her husband, Charles; three nephews, Skid Grant and his wife, Lainie, Jonathan Jones and Joshua Jones; great-niece and great-nephews, Abigail Grant, Caleb Grant and Dillon Gilley. A host of friends also survive.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Arnold A. Grant will be held on Thursday afternoon, October 15, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Pastor Merle Barron officiating. Interment will follow in the Kennesaw Memorial Gardens.

 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from 12 noon until the funeral hour.
