Derek Holmes, age 62, of Winston, GA, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014. He was born on April 2, 1952, in Atlanta, GA, and was preceded in death by his father, Shevard Holmes, brother, Jim, and sisters, Gloria and Rhonda. Mr. Holmes was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and Sweetwater Masonic Lodge #513.

 

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Denise Holmes of Winston, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Drew & Jodi Holmes of Seneca, SC, and Jon Frank & April Holmes of Winston, GA; daughter, Tanya Hunton of Hiram, GA; mother, Gladys Holmes of Douglasville, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Todd & Rachel Holmes of Hiram, GA; sister, Jane Rice of Mableton, GA; grandchildren, Bryan, Morgan, Mady, Bailey, Riley, Kylee Mae, Lily and Clair; great-grandchildren, Brantly and Aubree.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 2:00 PM, at Bethel United Methodist Church, with Reverend Beverly Casstevens officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
