Laura Kolb, age 97, of Douglasville, GA (Paulding County), passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2014. She was born on September 2, 1917, in Aliceville, AL, to the late George and Lillie Downer, and was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Thomas Kolb, and son, George Terrell Kolb. Mrs. Kolb worked as a Medical Technologist for many years and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

 

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Benjamin & Patricia Kolb, Jr., of Douglasville, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Ann & Mark Hopkins of Douglasville, GA, and Laura Juanita & Danny Jones of Dahlonega, GA; brother, Hugh Downer of Florence, MS; sister, Eva Maude Tisdall of El Paso, TX; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014, at 11 a.m., from Bethel United Methodist Church, with Reverend Beverly Casstevens officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Dawson Mitchell, Andrew Wilson, Austin Wilson, Brent Wilson, Craig Roppolo, and David Jones serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 21, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
