Daniel H. Payton, age 58, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014. He was born in Rome, GA, February 9, 1956, to Mary Lou Payton & the late, Edmond Dewey Payton, Sr. and was also preceded in death by a brother, Darryl Lee Payton and nephews, Jerry Wayne Payton and Michael Wade Payton. Mr. Payton was a devoted son, husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid Elvis singer and fan. Mr. Payton worked in the theater industry for over 30 years. He was a member of Macland Baptist Church and served the Lord as Music Minister for Sunday services at Bethel Gardens Assisted Living Home.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Hartley Payton; children, Tish & Chadwick Kleindienist of Powder Springs, GA, Stacey Payton of Asheville, NC, Leigh Ellerbee of Dallas, GA, and Lynn & Matthew Lindstrom of Kennesaw, GA; mother, Mary Lou Payton of Armuchee, GA; brothers & sisters-in-law, Edmond Payton, Jr. & Jane of Marietta, GA, Gerald Payton, Sr. & Betty of Demorest, GA, Roger Payton & Pat Smith of Rockmart, GA and Ricky Payton of Armuchee, GA; sisters & brothers-in-law, Linda & Roger Mathis of Armuchee, GA, Diane Payton of Armuchee, GA and Beth & Alan Ridge of Armuchee, GA; grandchildren, Ryanna Leigh Ellerbee, Parker David Kleindienst, Payton Emma Kleindienst, Owen Daniel Kleindienst, Trinity Jade Payton, Trevor Noah Kleindienst and Triston Michael Kleindienst; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 11:00 AM, from Macland Baptist Church, with Dr. Richard Walker and Reverend Chadwick Kleindienst officiating. (Mr. Payton will lie-in-state at the church from 10:00 AM until the service time). Interment will follow at 3:00 PM, in Floyd Memory Gardens, Rome, GA, with Patrick Ridge, Chris Ridge, Mike Hartley, Chuck Hartley, Jeff Headrick, Dewayne Mathis, Matt Payton and Jason Payton serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Home on Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
