Mrs. Dorothy “Faye” Locklear Baxter, age 82, of Rockmart, GA. passed away peacefully on Sunday June 1, 2014 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center.

 

Dorothy was born on August 1, 1931 in Rockmart, GA. to loving parents the late Mr. Guy Locklear, and Mrs. Beatrice Walraven Locklear. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 34 years Mr. H.C. “Slim” Baxter; she is also preceded in death by 6 brothers, Charles Locklear, James Locklear, Ray Locklear, Bobby Locklear, Marvin Locklear and Leon Locklear. Also, one sister, Joanie Brown.

 

Faye worked as a homemaker. She loved music and spending time with her family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith.

 

She is survived by her one daughter Ms. Mickie Baxter of Rockmart, GA, one son Mr. Thomas Baxter of Yorkville GA, one grandson Mr. Craig Dykes of Pace, FL, one great grandson Trace Dykes of Pace, FL, one brother Mr. Cliff Locklear of Statesboro, Ga, and one sister Mrs. & Mr. Amy (George) Wright of Dallas GA.; several nieces, nephews, and many other beloved family and friends.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy “Faye” Locklear Baxter will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 11 am with Brother Andy Fennell officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Stockbridge.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 5 – 8pm and Wednesday June 4, 2014 from 9 am until the funeral hour.
