Mrs. Grace Mitchell Brooks, age 91 of Dallas, GA passed away on Friday, May 9, 2014 at her residence. She was born on January 1, 1923 in Hiram, GA to Joseph Leonard and Jessica Ruth Mitchell, who preceded her in death. As a life- long resident of Paulding County, Grace spent many happy childhood hours visiting friends in Hiram and brightening the day of her dad “Mr. Joe”, who ran the local blacksmith shop. After high school Grace went to work for Dr. Tharpe in Austell as a Dental Hygienist and developed a new group of special Austell friends. Grace was one of the last surviving members of the Hiram High School Class of 1940 and was a life-long member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Brooks is survived by her husband, Charles William (C.W.) Brooks, Sr. of Dallas, GA to whom she was married for 71 years; she is also survived by; sons and daughter-in-laws, Charlie and Audrey Brooks of Dallas, GA and Joe and Kellie Brooks, of Dallas; daughter, Kathy Mawk of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Leigh Anne Lindsey, Kaylee Wade and Will Brooks all of Dallas, GA; great-grandchildren, Kristen Hosbach of Acworth, GA, Morgan Lindsey, Landon Wade, Peyton Brooks and Ledger Wade all of Dallas, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home, Hiram, GA with Dr. Wayne Meadows and Rev. Cindy Conner officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery in Hiram, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 11, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, Hiram, GA. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Charlie Brooks, Joe Brooks, Billy Mitchell, Kyle Wade, Will Brooks, and Patrick Lindsey.
