Mrs. Carrie Louise Sweatt Phillips, age 88 of Hiram passed away on April 27, 2014 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.


Mrs. Phillips was born on March 18, 1926 in Dallas, GA the daughter of the late Beecher Sweatt and the late Mary Gladys Brooks Sweatt. She had worked as a Department Manager for Sears and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed watching TV, especially the Price is Right on the Game Show Network. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Hulon L. Phillips and a sister, Virginia Crowe.


Mrs. Phillips is survived by a daughter, Brenda Prather of Hiram; two sons, Rick Phillips and his wife, Shirley of Acworth and Bill Phillips and his wife, Wanda of Monroe; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, a sister, Dora Dean Thurman of Dallas; and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral services for Mrs. Phillips will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Brant Calloway officiating. Interment services will follow in the Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. Brad Phillips, Chandler McCluskey, Dakota Dye, Scott Dye, Peyton Richie, and Slayter Richie will serve as pallbearers.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 4-8 pm and on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 from 9 am until the funeral hour.
