Thomas Chesley Williams, age 93, of Dallas, GA, passed away on, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at home after several years of declining health. He was born in 1920 in Paulding County, GA. The son of James Lee (Jim) Williams and Nettie Holland Williams. He was a long time member of High Shoals Baptist Church. He was a World War II Army Combat Veteran, having seen action in Four Island Campaigns in the Pacific. In his earlier years he worked as a farmer and saw miller, but retired from Austell Box Board Company with over 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lula Wynell Hansard Williams and a daughter, Brenda Gail Williams.

 

He is survived by a daughter, Louise (Alton A.) Landrum of Dallas, GA; two grandsons, Randy (Carla) Landrum of Dallas, and Tom (Melody) Landrum of Acworth, GA; two great-grandsons, Blake (Amanda) Landrum of Dallas, GA, and Casey Landrum of Canton, GA; two great-granddaughters, Alicia Landrum of Acworth and Ashley Landrum of Dallas, two great-great-grandsons, Chesley and Mason Landrum of Dallas, GA. Also surviving are his three sisters, Inez Meadows of Jackson, GA, Jo Etta Henson of Blountstown, Florida, and Faustine (Hugh) Wilson of Dallas, GA; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at 11 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Curtis Jackson, Reverend Jimmy Tibbitts, and Reverend Travis Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Paulding Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
