Clark Funeral Home Posted December 14, 2013 Report Share Posted December 14, 2013 Irma Lee Cole Phillips, age 86, of Mableton, GA, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013. She was born on January 9, 1927, in Dallas, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Curtis Phillips; her son, Charles Phillips; parents, Bob and Rosie Cole; and brothers, Louis, Barney, Waticell and Glen Cole. She was a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church. Her love for children made her a great kindergarten teacher and child care provider at Terry Lynn Kindergarten and Grace Day Care of Mableton. Her most joy was being able to provide her favorite dishes during the cookouts at the lake and making sure that everyone was welcome. Irma and Curtis also enjoyed their fishing trips to Clark Hill She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Kirk of Kennesaw, GA; her son and daughter-in-law, Lamar & Monica Phillips of Hiram, GA; four grandchildren, Mike and Karen Phillips of Nauvoo, AL; Frances and Dave Wiggins of Acworth, GA, Jason and Mandy Phillips of Kennesaw, GA, and Amanda and Greg Cobb of Dallas, GA; ten great-grandchildren, Ethan & Seth Phillips, Danielle, Delaney, & Lindsey Wiggins, Brennon & Harry Phillips, and Will, Mason & Chase Cobb; many loving nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her care givers of two years, Susan Hylton of Kennesaw and Paula Stillwell of Heritage Hospice, and Pam Treese, Chaplin at Heritage Hospice. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013, at 11 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Doug Couch and Chaplin Pam Treese officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens. Jason Phillips, Gregg Cobb, Dave Wiggins, Adam Cole, Mike Cole, and Jeff Pettus will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, December 15, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
