Mrs. Mary Ruth Pace Hurley

Mrs. Mary Ruth Pace Hurley, age 92 of Hiram, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center.

 

Mrs. Hurley was born on April 30, 1921 in Rockmart, GA, the daughter of the late Dan and Beulah Pope Carter. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She volunteered at the nursing home doing hair and setting up singings. She loved church activities and her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Grover Pace on June 30, 1988; second husband, John Hurley on May 9, 2001; son, James Pace on May 29, 1996 and a daughter, Patricia A. King on August 30, 2006.

 

Mrs. Hurley is survived by three daughters, Mary Hardy and her husband, Gerald of Dallas, Allene Fuller of Villa Rica, and Denise Thompson and her husband, Randall of Smyrna; three sons, Jimmy Dale Pace of Villa Rica, Sam Pace and his wife, Crystal of Oak Island, NC, and Danny Pace of Douglasville; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-eight great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Hurley will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Turner officiating. Interment services will follow in the Peaceful Meadows Memorial Park Cemetery. Dwayne Pace, Brian Carroll, Dean Smith, Tim Hardy, John Hardy and David Hardy will serve as pallbearers.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 from 4-9 pm and on Thursday, November 7, 2013 from 9 am until the funeral hour.
