Clark Funeral Home Posted September 21, 2013 Report Share Posted September 21, 2013 Jean Yancey Meek, age 93, of Douglasville (Paulding County), passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013. She was born on November 19, 1919, in Douglasville, GA, to the late Charles and Verdie Yancey, and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Irvin Meek, SR, four brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Meek was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas & Sybil Meek, Steven & Melissa Meek, and Jon Reid Meek & Brenda George, all of Douglasville, GA; grandchildren, Jon & Lisa Meek, Paige & Mark Segers, and Daniel Meek & Meg King; great-grandchildren, Sarah Meek and Jon Meek; and extended family, Louise McCoy and Ann & Richard Harper. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 23, 2013, at 11 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Kendall Taylor and Reverend Chris Branscomb officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 22, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA, is in charge of arrangements.
