Mr. Jack R. Tilley, age 93, of Dallas, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013, at Maple Ridge Nursing Home in Cartersville.

 

Jack was born on August 29, 1920 in Fulton County, to loving parents the late Mr. Bert Tilley and Mrs. Nellie Smith Tilley. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife Mrs. Bertha Turner Tilley; two brothers Mr. Freddy Tilley, and Mr. Aubrey “Bud” Tilley; three sisters Mrs. Violet Kimbell, Mrs. Nellie Dobbs, and Mrs. Myrtice Grogan; two granddaughters Mrs. Jamie Butler, and Mrs. Melinda Dunn; and one son in law Mr. Jimmy Reynolds.

 

Mr. Tilley was self-employed as a roofer. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church in Woodstock.

 

He is survived by one son Mr. & Mrs. Lanier (Janice) Tilley of Bremen; three daughters Mr. & Mrs. William (Brenda) Timms, Mr. & Mrs. Travis (Deborah) Golden, and Mrs. Robin Reynolds all of Dallas; ten grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, and other beloved friends.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Jack R. Tilley will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 11 am with Reverend Calvin Grogan officiating. Billy Timms, Conrad Timms, Josh Tilley, Lamar Reynolds, Mark Reynolds, and Billy Wayne Reynolds will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 5 – 8 pm and Monday, September 9, 2013 from 9 am until the funeral hour.
