Mr. Grady Lewis Mayfield, age 88 of Hiram passed away on Monday, August 26, 2013 at his residence.

 

Mr. Mayfield was born on March 20, 1925 in Palmetto, GA, the son of the late John Wilburn Mayfield and the late Inez Terry Mayfield. Mr. Mayfield worked as a plumber and was a member of the Macland Road Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Thurmond Mayfield; son, David Lewis Mayfield; brothers, William Homer and Watson Mayfield; sisters, Frances Camp, Lennie Faye Hembree, and Edna Adair; and half-sister, Maggie Lee Wilson.

 

Mr. Mayfield is survived by sons, Samuel Anthony (Charlene) Mayfield of Buford and Randal Dale (Susan) Mayfield of Sharpsburg; daughter, Amelia Kay (Randy) Medlin of Montgomery, AL; brothers, John (Camely) Mayfield of Atlanta, Wilson (Betty) Mayfield of Dallas, and Dallas (Carolyn) Mayfield of Villa Rica; sister, Joan Capes of Carrollton; sister in law, Ezell Mayfield of Hiram; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services for Mr. Mayfield will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Ministers Randy Medlin and Phillip Satterfield officiating. Interment services will follow in the Paulding Memorial Gardens. Vince Mayfield, Shane Mayfield, Terry Mayfield, Dennis Williamson, Bob Maxwell and Luke Medlin will serve as pallbearers.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 from 6-9 pm and on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 9 am until the funeral hour.
