Funeral Director Posted July 22, 2013 Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 Mr. Bradford Watson Mayfield, age 90 of Hiram passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Mayfield was born on October 18, 1922 in Palmetto, GA, the son of the late John Wilburn Mayfield and the late Inez Terry Mayfield. Mr. Mayfield was a 70 year member of the New Georgia Baptist Church and was a member of the Dallas Masonic Lodge. He retired with 30 years of service from General Motors. He was co-owner of the Catfish Den from 1977-1985 and owner of the 92 Easy Stop Grocery Store from 1971-1977. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Willie Mayfield; four sisters, Maggie Lee Wilson, Linnie Faye Hembree, Frances Camp, and Edna Adair. Mr. Mayfield is survived by his wife, Ezell to whom he married in their ministers home and had recently celebrated their 70th anniversary on July 17, 2013; son, Terry Mayfield of Douglasville; sister, Joan Capes of Carrollton; brothers, John Mayfield of Dunwoody, Wilson Mayfield of Dallas, Dallas Mayfield of Villa Rica, and Grady Mayfield of Hiram; two grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survives. Funeral services for Mr. Mayfield will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the New Georgia Baptist Church with Rev. James R. Burdette and Rev. Keith Stell officiating. Interment will follow in the Melrose Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Mayfield’s Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 from 9:00 am until they leave in procession for the church.
