Clark Funeral Home Posted July 18, 2013 Report Share Posted July 18, 2013 Sallie M. Shepherd, age 96, of Villa Rica, GA, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013. She was born April 7, 1917, in Bowdon, GA, and was preceded in death by her parents, Jabez Ernest Miles & Alice Sowers Miles, and her husband, Woodrow Riley Shepherd, Sr., who was a D-Day Decorated World War II Veteran. Mrs. Shepherd was a resident of Lawrenceville, GA for 27 years. She worked for twenty years as a secretary for the Federal Government and was a member of the 10th Street United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Woodrow Riley Shepherd, Jr. & wife, Joe of Villa Rica, GA; daughter & son-in-law, Alice S. Pitt & husband, Lonnie of Hoschton, GA; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be Friday, July 19, 2013, at 11:30 AM, from Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville, GA, with Reverend Marian Wilkerson officiating.
