Willie Allen “Curtis” Rachel Sr., age 96, of Villa Rica (Paulding Co.) passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013. He was born on June 15, 1917 in Dallas, GA to the late John Henry and Luella Cooper Rachel. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Rachel was retired from Lockheed-Martin after 35 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Lula Clark Rachel; his children, Roger & Pat Rachel of Dallas, GA, Patsy Weddington of Dallas, GA, Wilmatine & Allen Waldon of Decatur, GA, Hilda Rachel of Dallas, GA, Mazell Lewis of Carrollton, GA, Juanita & Willie Chester of Douglasville, GA, Brenda Hollis of Dallas, GA, Willie Rachel Jr. and his wife, Melba of Dallas, GA, Michele & Clifford Zachery of Dallas, GA, Douglas Rachel of Douglasville, GA, Michael Clark of Villa Rica, GA, Sharon & Sam Jameson of Stone Mountain, GA and Juana & Larry Heard of Villa Rica, GA; his siblings, Ludie McClure of Dallas, GA, Alice McClure of Dallas, GA, Alvin Styles of Dallas, GA and Vilatoe Thomas of Cincinnati, Ohio; two devoted nephews, Charles Rachel Sr. of Dallas, GA and Harold Styles of Dallas, GA; 26 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; special family friend, Minister Ronnie Nation; a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Cord Franklin Sr. and Rev. Klenneth Montgomery officiating. He will lie-in-state at the church for one hour prior to the service. The interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
