And yes, we also service all 2-stroke machines too...weed eaters, edgers, tillers, generators, blowers, anything you have to mix oil with gas in. ;)

Glenn does a great job at a reasonable price. I have used him for all our yard equipment in recent years. He was able to fix things that others could not and he also adjusted things that should have been adjusted but never were.

If you want a detailed guy servicing your equipment, Glenn Jiles is your only choice.

Thanks PSD. We do our best to please folks, and tackle some things that other shops won't touch (and sometimes, I don't blame them!!)

This season has been an anomaly though. Business has been dreadfully slow for the past 3 weeks. Armed with a list of 25 people who wanted riding mowers, no one has bought one (few even returned my calls). This has been probably the worst season since I began this 7 years ago, and I have no clue as to why. I can only hang on another month or two, then I'll have to go into something else if this doesn't pick up. That's a shame too!! We serviced a riding mower yesterday, in fact. The couple bought the mower new, it failed, they sent it back, waited several weeks to get it back and the same problem was still there. Sent it back again, same results. After wasting enough of their time, the mower was no longer on warranty. They had to look for a mechanic, so they called me. It took me just over a half hour to not only fix the problem, but make sure that particular problem would NEVER happen again. Go figure. I hear all these stories from people who have dropped literally HUNDREDS of dollars, only to be disappointed again and again. FOLKS.....stop throwing your money down the drain, and call me up. Your average small engine mech is most likely right out of engine school, and lack years of experience that I just happen to have. I don't throw parts at machines and charge you things you don't need. I have extensive technical training in diagnostics- this means I fix THE problem at hand....I don't just start replacing things at your expense until I find the culprit. I find the problem FIRST, and fix only that problem. If I see other potential failures that may occur soon, I'll let you know, but it's your prerogative to have me fix them or you can wait until they fail. In short, I am NOT a salesman, I am a repairman. My money comes from labor, not selling you parts. I don't mark up parts either to swindle a few bucks out of you. I couldn't care less about making money from selling parts you may or may not need. I do this because I love working on these machines, and labor is the only thing I do it for, not selling you parts you don't need. If I have a spare part, slightly used, but in good working order, I will offer this as a way to save you even more money.

This business is all about trust and honesty, although I make very little with that frame of mind. I'm a terrible businessman as a result- but I am also honest, trustworthy, and I only want to repair things well enough to keep you happy and keep you coming back, as well as having you spread the word. I think enough people have been taken in this business, and my only goal is to see if this business can survive without resorting to such tactics. If I flop (and things don't look good for me right now), then I can at least rest easy in knowing I did the best I could, and kept my customers in mind, rather than my own bottom line. ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

I agree, they do great work over there.. reasonable on price and very honest too. I've already took a few pieces of equipment there and they get me back mowing fast! would highly recommend them to anyone as well.
