Funeral Director Posted May 23, 2013 Report Share Posted May 23, 2013 Mrs. Billie Mae Staton, age 81, of Douglasville, Georgia,passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Emory University Hospital. Billie was born on February 9, 1932 in Rome, GA to lovingparents, the late Mr. John Barclay and Mrs. Grace Reid Barclay. She was also preceded in death by her belovedhusband Mr. Emmett Eugene Staton; and two sisters, Mrs. Jonabelle BarclayCarter, and Mrs. Joan Barclay Gibbs. Mrs. Staton worked as a Journey Woman for a PrintingCompany. She was also a one-time Presidentof the Douglas County Humane Society. Billie enjoyed crafts, bird watching and animals. She loved her dog Butterbean, and grand dogsRex and Daffy. She enjoyed sports and wasan avid GA Football fan. Billie is survived by daughter Mr. & Mrs. Allen (Donna S.)Jones of Dallas, GA; son Mr. & Mrs. Dennis E. (Ginger) Staton of Tacoa, GA;daughter Mr. & Mrs. Michael (Sandy S.) de la Penotiere of Ontario, Canada;son Mr. & Mrs. John (Brenda) Staton of Douglasville, GA; brother Mr. JohnBarclay of Talking Rock, GA; two sisters Mrs. Jane B. Martin of Tucker, GA andMrs. Linda B. Rowland of Fort Payne, AL; eight grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other beloved family and friends. A memorial service in her honor will be held on Saturday, June1, 2013 at her residence in Douglasville, GA at 12 pm.
