Mr. James Edward "Jimmy" McGinnis

Mr. James Edward McGinnis, affectionately known as Jimmy,passed away at Piedmont Hospital on Friday, May 3, 2013. Mr. McGinnis a resident of Dallas, Georgia,was 80 years old at his passing.

 

 

 

Jimmy was born on March 6, 1933 in Cherokee, AL to lovingparents the late Mr. Rubin McGinnis and Mrs. Idell Cline. He was also preceded in death by one son Mr.James Dale McGinnis, and four sisters Mrs. Jeanette Newberry, Mrs. ElsieMcGinnis, Mrs. Nelma Gene McGinnis, and Mrs. Mariam McGinnis.

 

 

 

He is survived by his beloved wife Mrs. Mary McGinnis ofDallas, GA, one daughter Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth (Lawanda) Martin ofCartersville, GA; one son Mr. David McGinnis of Dallas, GA; four sisters Mrs.Betty Woody of Adairsville, GA; Mrs. Ruby Bohannon, Mr. & Mrs. L.M. (Mary)Wade all of Cartersville, GA, and Mrs. Shirley Ray of Dallas, GA; two brothersMr. Charles McGinnis, Mr. W.A. McGinnis both of Cartersville, GA; fivegrandchildren, seven great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and otherbeloved family and friends.

 

 

 

Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy McGinnis will be held onSunday, May 5, 2013 at 3 pm at Crossroads Baptist Church, where he will lie instate from 2 – 3 pm. Reverend HaroldTurner, Reverend Corey Martin, and Reverend David Chaffin will officiate theservices. Music will be provided byCarolyn and Charles Lewis, Corey Martin, and Jeff Eberhart. The following gentlemen will serve aspallbearers Mark Rakestraw, Joey Rakestraw, Cecil Osborne, Michael McGinnis,Christopher Martin, and Tony Fitzgerald. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home onSaturday, May 4, 2013 from 5 – 9 pm and Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 9 am until weleave in procession for the church at 2:30.
