Mr. Harry Stone Gibson, Jr., age 83 of Dallas passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Wellstar Paulding Hospital.

 

 

Mr. Gibson was born on March 20, 1930 in Atlanta, GA the son of the late Harry Stone Gibson, Sr. and the late Edith Pennington Gibson. Mr. Gibson proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict from April 1953 until June 1956 as a United States Air Force Lieutenant. Mr. Gibson grew up in Southwest Atlanta and graduated from Tech High in 1948 and from Georgia Tech in 1952 with a degree in Chemistry. He earned his MBA from Georgia State University. After his military service, He went to work at Lockheed in July 1956 until his retirement in September 1999. While at Lockheed he developed several patents. He was a member of the Capitol View Baptist Church in Atlanta.

 

 

Mr. Gibson is survived by his wife, Evangeline Cooper Gibson; a son, Charles John Gibson Dorsett and his wife, Jill of Buford; a daughter, Teresa Gibson Cranford of Dallas; step-son, Lawrence Randolph Kincaid of Granger, TX; grandchildren, Russell Lawrence Cranford and Leonard Randolph Cranford; and three great-grandchildren.

 

 

Memorial Inurnment services will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA with Rev. Thomas Cole officiating.

 

 

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to help wounded soldiers and their families at woundedwarriorproject.org in Mr. Gibson's memory.
