Hubert Cecil Baxter, age 90, of Dallas, GA passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Tranquility Hospice in Austell, GA. He was born on June 23, 1922 in Dallas, GA. He was a carpenter by trade and self-employed. Mr. Baxter was preceded in death by his parents; Dewey Prescott and Cordia Vealla Gamel Baxter, wife of 40 years, Bennie L. (Jo) Baxter, daughters, Margie Louise Baxter and Peggy Marie Blackmon.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Mewborn Baxter of Dallas, GA; children, Raymond and Laverne Baxter of Dallas, GA, Billy and Mildred Baxter of Centre, AL, Shelby and Ronnie Kemp of Dallas, GA, and Judy and Rocky Williams of Dallas, GA; sisters, Imodean Hunter and Lorene Mann both of Powder Springs, GA; seven grandchildren, 11 great –grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA with Pastor James T. “Plywood” Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens in Hiram, GA. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, 2013 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA is in charge of arrangements.
