Oneal Shelnut, age 79, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013. The son of the late, Emmett Oneal Shelnut & the late, Cola Chaffin Shelnut, he was born in Jasper, AL, on June 26, 1933. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Louise Shelnut, in 2011. Mr. Shelnut was a member of Thorsby First Baptist Church and had worked as a salesman in the pest control business.

Survivors include his sons & daughters-in-law, Danny & Heather Shelnut of Cumming, GA, David & Karen Shelnut of North Carolina, and Darrell & Tammy Shelnut of Powder Springs, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Donna & Terry Lee of Albany, GA and Renee & Terry Lacey of Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at 12:30 PM C.S.T., from Croft Acton Cemetery in Hoover, AL, with Reverend Wade Acton officiating. Grandsons and nephews of Mr. Shelnut will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 19, 2013, at Clark Funeral Home, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and also on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the graveside in Hoover, AL, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM C.S.T.
