Funeral Director Posted April 2, 2013 Report Share Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) Mr. Bobby Samuel Vickers, age 70 of Dallas passed away on Monday, April 1, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Vickers was born on March 14, 1943 in Chattanooga, TN,the son of the late Willie Vickers and Alba Montgomery Vickers. Mr. Vickers was a member of the North Paulding Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver with International Distributing Service. He was a veteranof the United States Army and a graduate of Sprayberry High School. He enjoyed painting and was a great artist. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Gayle Annadale Vickers in 1986; grandson, Austin Vickers in 2007 and a sister, Martha Sue Keener in 1999. Mr. Vickers is survived by his wife, Jan Hacker Vickers;son, Kevin and Beth Vickers of Dallas; step-son, David Stanphill of Brady, TX;step-daughter, Sondra Stanphill of Morganton, GA; four grandchildren, Allison Stanphill, Britaney Vickers, Sawyer Vickers, and Jake Vickers; brother, Jerry and Sherry Vickers of Marietta; half-brother, Buman Hitt of Kennesaw; and nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Mr. Vickers will be held on Sunday,April 7, 2013 at 6:00 pm at the North Paulding Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas Cole officiating. Music will be provided by Tim Bell. Inurnment will follow on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton GA. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations bemade to North Paulding Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 136, Dallas, GA30132 or to your own personal church's building fund in Mr. Vickers memory.
