Mrs. Myrtle Rackley Gulledge

Mrs. Myrtle Rackley Gulledge, age 89 of Dallas passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center.

 

 

Mrs. Gulledge was born on July 10, 1923 in Dallas, GA to the loving parents, the late Dewey and Ruby Wills Rackley. She worked for several years at the Bomber Planta nd the Vinnings Manufacturing Company. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Crossroads Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ivy Lee Gulledge, two sons, Gene Gulledge and David Gulledge; brothers, Hubert and Doug Rackley;and sisters, Georgie Pickett, Jewell Myers and Ada Smith.

 

 

MawMaw was a loving mother, neighbor, and friend. She loved gardening, cooking and sewing. She enjoyed having all the family togetherand all the kids over. She was not just our MawMaw, she was everyone's MawMaw.

 

 

Mrs. Gulledge is survived by her daughters, Mr. and Mrs.Frank (Lorene) Green, Mr. and Mrs. George (Ivelyn) Hollis and Ms. Joyce Willingham, all of Dallas; four grandsons, Mr.and Mrs. Ronald (Treva) Gulledge of Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. Mark (Doreen) Green of Weaver, AL, Mr. and Mrs. Mike (Elaine) Willingham of Dallas, and Mr. Lee Willingham, also of Dallas; four granddaughters, Mr. and Mrs. Robin (Lee) Kelley of Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. Denise (Brandon) Luttrell of Dallas, Mr. and Mrs. Wanda (Kevin) Stephenson of Cartersville and Ms. Rhonda Bone of Dallas; fourteen great grandchildren; eightgreat great grandchildren; brothers, Mr. Ray Rackley of Marietta and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry (Shirley) Rackley of Dallas; daughter in law, Mrs. Susan Gulledge ofDallas; sister in laws, Mrs. Maxine Rackley of Dallas and Mrs. Ugeal Rackley of Black Mountain, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

 

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Gulledge will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Voyles and Rev. Thomas Garner officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Johnny Nixon, CodyNixon, Lee Willingham, T. J. Bone, Aaron Green, Talen Green, Corey Gulledge and Joseph Fennell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronald Gulledge, Mark Green, Mike Willingham, Brandon Luttrell, Kevin Stephenson, Justin Luttrell, and Austin Kelley.

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home onWednesday, March 13, 2013 from 4 -9 pm and on Thursday, March 14, 2013 from 9 am until the funeral hour.
