Mrs. Shirley Yvonne Smith, age 74, of Hiram, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2013 at her residence.

 

 

 

Shirley was born on November 17, 1938 in Georgia, to loving parents the late Mr. Newton Thomas Benton and Mrs. Eddie Mae Benton. She was also preceded in death by one son James William Lail, Jr. who passed away in 1994; one daughter Ms. Mary Jane Smith who passed away in 1998; husband of many years Mr. Richard Bone who passed in 1992; and Matthew Robert Triplett who passed in 1994.

 

 

 

Shirley worked as a cook and waitress. She was of the Pentecostal Faith. She always enjoyed hearing Jimmy Swaggart minister through word and song. She loves Gospel music and sang herself. She was a dedicated wife and mother and enjoyed cooking for her family.

 

 

 

She is survived by her beloved husband of 18 years Mr. John L. Smith of Hiram, GA; one daughter Mrs. Sharon Y. Ginder; three grandchildren Donnie D’Lee Turner, D’Ronica Dale Morgan, and Anthony D’Wayne Thompson; three great grandchildren Jacklyn Evon Turner, Stephanie Audranna Bordelon, and Cheyenne Alizabeth Morgan; one great great granddaughter Marley Luna McMichael; one sister Helen “Flossie” of Canton, GA; one brother and other beloved friends and family.

 

 

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Smith will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 2 pm with Reverend Thomas Hougas officiating. Music will include the selections Going Home, Look For Me At Jesus’ Feet, I Will Always Love You, Mama Loves Roses, and Wings Of A Dove. Randy Morgan, Sam Bordelon, Brandon McMichael, Billy Boozer, Thomas Hougas, and Anthony Thompson will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Paulding Memorial Gardens.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 from 4 – 9 pm and Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 9 am until the funeral hour.
