Mr. John Michael "Mike" Rice

Mr. John Michael Rice, age 60, of Dallas passed away onMonday, January 21, 2013 at his residence.

 

 

Mr. Rice was born on May 23, 1952 in Roanoke, AL, the son ofthe late Rev. John R. Rice, who passed away in 1982 and Helen Daniel RiceTreece. Mr. Rice was a graduate ofSpring Garden High School and worked with Mabry’s Refrigeration and for manyyears as an apartment maintenance supervisor. Mr. Rice was of the Baptist faith and loved the outdoors, especiallyfishing and tending to his garden.

 

 

Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Barbara Sue Rice;daughter, Amanda Shea Hudgins of Dallas; son, Corey Collins of Dallas;grandson, Drew Collins; mother, Helen Daniel Rice Treece of Gadsden, AL; threesisters, Linda (Richard) Jenkins of Montgomery, AL, Robbie (Charles) Lancasterof Gadsden, AL, and Johnna (Mike) Scogin of Georgetown, KY; brother, Tim Riceof Gadsden, AL; and many nieces and nephews.

 

 

Funeral services for Mr. Rice will be held on Thursday,January 24, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Homewith Chaplain Ron Daniel officiating. AEulogy will be given by his daughter, Amanda Shea Hudgins. Music will be provided by Jeff Eberhart andBecky Bearden.

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home onWednesday, January 23, 2013 from 5-8 pm and on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from9 am until the funeral hour.
