Funeral Director Posted January 8, 2013 Report Share Posted January 8, 2013 Mrs. Opal Elaine Pace, age 63 of Dallas passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Pace was born on July 17, 1949 in Doraville, GA, the daughter of the late William Kermit Gazaway and Mrs. Sarah Frances Skelton Gazaway. Mrs. Pace was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith. She loved cooking and spending time with her children and family. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her sister, Alice White. Mrs. Pace is survived by her husband, Robert Pace; daughter, Pamela Grubbs of Dallas; son, Matthew Shane Pace of Dallas; six grandchildren, Leah Smith, Allison Grubbs, Andy Grubbs, Matthew Burton, Tyler Burton, and Christopher Campbell; a great grandchild, Gracie Smith; Mother, Sarah Frances Gazaway of Norcross; sister, Anne and Charles Spruill of Norcross; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Pace will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Cheatham Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis McCoy, Rev. Richard Wilkins, and Rev. Tim Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Peaceful Meadows Memorial Park Cemetery. David Pace, DeanWhite, Andrew Campbell, Christopher Smith, Ken Williams, Terry Pace, Rex Pace, and Seth Hill have been asked to serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 3 – 9 pm and on Thursday, January 10, 2013 from 9 am until they in leave in procession for the church.
