Mrs. Ada Rackley Smith

Mrs. Ada Rackley Smith, age 81, of Dallas, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Wellstar Paulding Nursing Center.

 

 

 

Ada was born on April 29, 1931 to loving parents the late Mr. Dewey D. Rackley and Mrs. Ruby Wills Rackley. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Mr. James Smith; daughter Ms. Tammie Smith; two brothers Mr. Hubert Rackley and Mr. Doug Rackley; and two sisters Mrs. Georgia Pickett and Mrs. Jewell Myers.

 

 

 

Mrs. Ada Smith worked in food service at Lockheed. Upon leaving Lockheed she was a homemaker and devoted herself to the care of her daughter Tammie. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed Bingo and Cooking.

 

 

 

Ada is survived by two brothers Mr. Ray Rackley of Marietta, GA and Mr. & Mrs. Jerry (Shirley) Rackley of Dallas, GA; one sister Mrs. Myrtle Gulledge of Dallas, GA; many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends.

 

 

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Smith will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 2 pm with Reverend Donald Voyles and Reverend Durwood Perry officiating. Music will include CD selections When I Get Where I’m Going, Take My Hand Precious Lord, and How Great Thou Art. Spencer Rackley, Shane Osmer, Daniel Maple, Billy Myers, Joey Pickett, and Payden Parker will serve as pall bearers. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 4 – 9 pm and Friday, December 28, 2012 from 9 am until the funeral hour.
