Mr. James Robert Garner, age 69 of Rockmart passed away onTuesday, October 16, 2012 at his residence.

 

 

Mr. Garner was born in Cedartown, GA on November 30, 1942 toloving parents, the late Mr. James Steve Garner and Mrs. Thelma Inez KeownGarner. He was an assemblyman by tradeemployed in the auto industry with General Motors. He was a member of Beulahland BaptistChurch. He was also a member of theBeulah Lodge. James loved to hunt andenjoyed relaxing with a good book.

 

 

Mr. Garner is survived by his beloved wife, Mrs. BettyGarner; three daughters, Mr. & Mrs. Phil (Rhonda) Blissitt of Alabama, Mr.& Mrs. Greg (Melanie) Savico of Indiana, and Mr. & Mrs. David (Valerie)Wright of Cedartown; mother, Mrs. Inez Garner of Rockmart; a sister, Mr. & Mrs. David (Lucille) Canik ofHouston, TX; three brothers, Mr. & Mrs. Orell (Gail) Garner, Reverend &Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Garner, Mr. & Mrs. Cecil (Anna) Garner, all ofRockmart; eight grandchildren, Candice Beck, Kipp Frady, Cody Blissitt, BlaineReece, Brian Reece, Harley Sikes, Gregory Savico and Ethan Landry; eightgreat-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other beloved family members andfriends. He was preceded in death by hisfather, Mr. James Steve Garner who passed away in 1980; two brothers, Mr.Kenneth Garner and Mr. Kim Garner; an infant son, Shane Robert Garner and aninfant daughter, Belinda Garner.

 

 

Funeral services for Mr. James Robert Garner will be held atBeulahland Baptist Church on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 1:00 pm with ReverendThomas Garner officiating. Music will beprovided by Valerie Wright. DavidWright, Phil Blissitt, Cody Blissitt, Kipp Frady, Ethan Landry and Brian Reecewill serve as pallbearers. Intermentwill follow in the Beulahland Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home onThursday, October 18, 2012 from 4 – 9 pm and on Friday, October 19, 2012 from9:00 am until we leave in procession for the church at 12:30 pm.
