Oscar Dobbs, Jr.,age 70 of Rockmart, GA passed away on Friday, September 7, 2012. He was born on March 11, 1942 in Carroll County, GA to the late Oscar Dobbs Sr., also preceded in death by his brothers Robert, David, Freddie Dobbs and sisters Shirley Duncan, Patricia Blount, Virginia Henry, and a grandson Tifton R. Dobbs, Jr. Mr. Dobbs was a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, he was a truck driver, and loved fishing and spending time with family and friends.

 

Survivors include his mother Hazel G. Dobbs; Villa Rica, GA, wife of 35 years, Annie Pearl Dobbs; Rockmart; GA, sons, Tifton and his wife Daphne Dobbs, Lanett; AL, Derrick and his wife Syconia Robinson, Villa Rica; GA, Pernell McClarity and Carolyn Backers, both of Rockmart; GA, daughters, Ann and her husband Al Griggs, LaGrange; GA, Askari Dobbs, Dallas; GA, brothers, Richard Dobbs, Villa Rica; GA, Jerry and his wife Gail Dobbs, Carrollton; GA, Bobby Dobbs, Villa Rica; GA, Randy and his wife Rose Dobbs, Villa Rica; GA, sisters, Deloris and her husband AJ White, Riverdale; GA, Deborah Henson, Carrollton; GA, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from Flat Rock Baptist Church, Mr. Dobbs will lie in state from 10am till service time, with Reverend Regynal Eppinger officiating.
