Clark Funeral Home Posted August 31, 2012 Report Share Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) Marion Joseph Cocchi, age 87, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2012. He was born on March 11, 1925, in Atlanta, GA, to the late Marion A. and Daisy Cocchi. Mr. Cocchi was an United States Army Veteran of World War II, receiving the World War II Victory Medal, he retired from John L. Underwood, Heating and Air Conditioning Supply after 38 years of service, and was a member of Baptist Tabernacle in Downtown Atlanta. Mr. Cocchi enjoyed fishing, family and friends, and eating. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Betty Cocchi of Douglasville; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia & Melvyn Brown of Carrollton, Rebecca & David Allen of Carrollton, Donna & Larry Dunn of Douglasville, and Laurie & Tony Smith of Buford; brother and sister-in-law, William & Lyra Cocchi of Mansfield, GA; sister, Beatrice Turner of Conyers; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at 11 a.m., from Clark Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Kevin Way officiating. Interment will follow in Resthaven Cemetery. Dan Allwein, Scott Allwein, Eric Dunn, Jesse Eaves, Bill Williams, Eddie Brown, and Andrew Smith will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 3, 2012, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations and be made to Tranquility Hospice at 4040 Hospital West Drive, Austell, GA 30168; and/or Alzheimers Association, at alz.org, or P.O.
