Alice Cantrell, age 89, of Acworth, GA passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012. She was born on January 13, 1923 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Homer and Ethel Turner. Mrs. Cantrell was preceded in death by husband Coleman Cantrell, daughter Lanelle Cantrell Maddox, granddaughter Denise Puckett, great-grandson Rylan Puckett, brothers Arthur Turner, Kenneth Turner, Doc Turner, and Nellie Harp. Mrs. Cantrell was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in Dallas. Mrs. Cantrell was a homemaker who loved to cook. She was known for the making the best fried pies. She was very dedicated to her family and loved them deeply. Her eyes would light up every time she saw her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Survivors include sons and daughters in law, Charles & Margaret Cantrell of Dallas, Roger & Mary Cantrell of Dallas, and Ricky Cantrell: daughter and son in law, Carol & Max Williams of Dallas: sister, Juanita Willbanks of Acworth: eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA with Reverend Harold Turner and Reverend Sammy Hall officiating. Internment will be held in Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Scott Williams, Todd Williams, Travis Cantrell, Brian Maddox, Danny Harp, and Bobby Willbanks will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 22 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram, GA is in charge of arrangements. www.samclarkfuneralhome.com
