Funeral Director
Mrs. Florence “Doodle” Owen Womack, age 89, of Hiram, Georgia formerly of Kennesaw passed gently into Glory on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at her home. She passed in the loving presence of her three children Judith (Tim) Rutledge, Donna (Steve) Eberhart, and Stephen (Kathy) Womack and granddaughter Angela Womack. She entered the embrace of her Lord Jesus and reunited with her waiting husband Virgil “Toots” Womack who had preceded her in 1995. Florence was no doubt joyfully welcomed by her father, Reverend Floyd Owen and mother, Georgia Atcheson Owen of Dallas, her siblings Alta McCollum, Alma Alexander, Agnes Hart, Clyde Owen and Grace Hanson, great-grandsons; Tyler and Mason Glass, and her grandson David’s deceased wife Cheri, who also preceded her. Florence was born in Dallas, GA on January 15, 1923. She was a loving and prayerful follower and faithful witness for her Lord, intensely devoted to her family and a fiery patriot. She dearly loved and is survived by her six grandchildren, Angela Womack, Greg, Scott, and David Glass, Bethany Luchene, Reid Womack, their spouses, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, as well as her extended family, many friends and prayer partners. She loved her church, the First Baptist Church of Kennesaw. Prior to becoming dedicated homemaker she worked at various jobs as needed, including Bell Bomber Plant during World War II. She was a faithful volunteer at Kennestone Hospital for over 20 years and was involved with the Boy and Girl Scouts. She enjoyed horticulture and creating floral arrangements. Her greatest gifts were witnessing for Jesus and praying for her family, friends, and country. It can be said of her; she didn’t leave important things unsaid or undone or wait for someone else to do them. She poured her life strength, without reserve, into the lives of others. She surely received her “well done” and “enter into your reward” from her pleased Master.
