Griffin

Mr. Thomas “Foots” Griffin, age 68, of Dallas, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2005. He was born on May 28, 1936 in Dallas to the late Clinton and Inez Cooper Griffin.

Surviving are his nephews, Richard Griffin, Allen Griffin and David Griffin, all of Dallas and Roger Griffin of Carrollton; a niece, Debra Morgan of Dallas.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. from New Hope Cemetery with Reverend Don Voyles officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Clark Funeral Home in Hiram in charge of arrangements.

Oh My.

This was a shock to see.

"Foots" was my sister-in-laws brother-in-law.

He was an uncle to the women who were killed in 1977 when the plane went down in New Hope.

I remember when I first met him, how BIG he seemed. Not overweight, just BIG. And he had a voice to go along with it.

He was interested in anything and everything that had to do with the civil war and was an avid collector of civil war artifacts.

He was also involved in the civil war re-enactments.

I haven't seen Foots in a few years, but I know he will be sadly missed by family and all who had the chance to meet this bear of a man.

Rest in Peace Foots.
