Mrs. Blanche P. Cohran, age 88 of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at home.

 

 

 

Mrs. Blanche Cohran was born on September 18, 1923 in Troy, AL to loving parents the late Mr. Gustav Fredrick Porath and Mrs. Ada Lee Spradley. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 60 years Mr. W. P. Cohran; as well as several sisters and brothers.

 

 

 

Blanche attended Smyrna United Methodist Church. She worked as a purchasing agent for Paulding Memorial Hospital for 32 years, having retired at the age of 72. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She loved her family and the years she spent as a homemaker. Reading was one of her favorite pastimes, as well as geneology and family history. She also enjoyed bird watching.

 

 

 

Mrs. Cohran is survived by three daughters Mr. & Mrs. Bob (Beverlin) Blakely of Las Vegas, NV, Mr. & Mrs. Jerry (Patsy) Cole of Temple, GA, and Mr. & Mrs. Mike (Diane) Breedin of Villa Rica, GA; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Pauline Ross of Colorado, and Mrs. Gertrude Parnell of Troy, AL; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many other beloved family members and friends.

 

 

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Blanche Cohran will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 2 pm with the Reverend Benny Abney, Sr. and Reverend Johnny Turner officiating. Music will be provided by Neysa Keown, Celia White and Heather Russell. Daryl Blakely, David Blakely, Dana New, Kevin New, Dwayne Cole, Blake New, and Austin Cole will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Smyrna United Methodist Church Cemetery.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 5 – 9 pm and Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 9 am until the time of service.
