Funeral Director Posted February 26, 2012 Report Share Posted February 26, 2012 Mr. Billy Joe "Bill" Dodd, age 70 of Dallas, GA passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Bill Dodd was born on October 31, 1941 in Dallas, GA,the son of loving parents, the late Mr. Joe R. Dodd and the late Mrs. Irene Womack Dodd. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Mr. Wendall "Wimp" Dodd. Mr. Dodd was a member of the Northside Baptist Church and worked for Hale Construction as a carpenter superintendent for many years. Mr. Dodd loved riding his bike on the Silver Comet Trail, woodworking, reading his Bible and other Christian books, and gardening. Mr. Billy Dodd is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mrs.Patricia Dodd; a son and daughter-in-law, Mr. Jeff and Peggy Dodd, Dallas; two grandchildren, Allison Dodd and Adam (Ashley) Dodd, all of Dallas; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Butler, Mrs. Frances Walker, and Mrs. Gail and Jeff Jenkins, all of Dallas; a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. Roger and Glenda Dodd, Dallas and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Dodd will be held on Wednesday,February 29, 2012 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home with the Reverend Tommy Seay and the Reverend Curtis Turner officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mr. Jeff Dodd. Jeff Dodd, Mike Mauldin, Lloyd Forsyth, Dennis Fields, Steve Butler, and Jeff Jenkins will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Dallas Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 4 – 8 pm and on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 from 9 am until the funeral hour. The family of Mr. Billy Dodd has requested to please omit flowers.
