Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth “Da” Harris Young, age 94 of Temple, Georgia passed away on February 23, 2012 at her residence.

 

 

 

Mrs. Catherine Young was born on August 13, 1917 in Rossville, GA to loving parents the late Mr. Andrew Jackson Harris and Mrs. Martha Manery Harris. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband Mr. Glenn Wilson Young and son in law Mr. Virgil Morris, who both passed away in 2001; two brothers, and four sisters.

 

 

 

Catherine Young was an active member of Pleasant Grove Methodist Church and played a large roll in the building of the Fellowship Hall. She served as a Gray Lady at Paulding Memorial Hospital. She was a homemaker and loved her family most of all. She enjoyed reading, cooking and travel.

 

 

 

Mrs. Young is survived by two daughters Mr. & Mrs. Roger (Marty) Hord of Marietta, GA and Ms. Jean Ann Morris of Paulding County, GA; four grandchildren Mr. & Mrs. Chris (Anna) Conley of Atlanta, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Bobby (Angie) Murphy of Acworth, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Brian (Heather) Powers of Paulding County, GA and Ms. Shellee Draper of Villa Rica, GA; six great grandchildren Jessica Murphy, Cooper Murphy, Kadee Draper, Julee Draper, Maloree Powers, and Wilson Powers; one sister Mrs. Margie Killingsworth of Ft. Ogelthorpe, GA; many nieces, nephews and other beloved family members and friends. Mrs. Young was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

 

 

 

Funeral Services for Mrs. Catherine Young will be held in the Chapel of Jeff Eberhart Funeral Home on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 1 pm with the Reverend Mike Morris and Doctor Jim Burdette officiating. Brian Powers, Chris Conley, Bobby Murphy, Keith Cherry, Cooper Murphy, and Gene Harris will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Wil Powers. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.

 

 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 5 – 8 pm and Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 9 am until the time of service.
